Artist Statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer, interested in experimental approaches to graphic design, imaging, writing, and research. My screen- and projection-based, collage, drawing, typographic, and print work offers perspectives on data, language, body and design space. I am focussed on the material trace of images, and on disrupting conventions and expectations connected with maps, web- and time-based visual forms, and the constructions of archives. My work is motivated by a concern for the ways conflict is memorialized and visualized in culture, and a fascination in navigating and creating new information and ecological systems. The various layers in my work reference and examine our understanding of cultural, technological, and environmental events and intersect with a private human scale of life, aesthetics, and perspectives of place.
