Myth of Mary Polly Calderwood

2015. Workshop and project at Design Inquiry No Quo in Vinalhaven, ME. In conjunction with the project, A Call to Uncover.

Uncovered at the Vinalhaven Historical Society at DesignInquiry (DI) program: NoQuo—Polly. Mary Polly Calderwood lived on Vinalhaven Island, ME, and was vilified for challenging what was acceptable behavior for women—or maybe she really was just ‘an awful thing.’

This study was initiated over the course of four days on the island of Vinalhaven in collaboration with a group of design friends: Maia Wright, Chris Fox, Alice Lee, Steve Bowden, Arzu Ozkal, and with Joshua Unikel and Josh Singer.
